Ukrainian refugee families, in collaboration with New Vision Renewable Energy, are making a significant impact by assembling solar lights to be delivered to war-torn regions in Ukraine. The People’s Chapel Church in West Virginia played a pivotal role in organizing 30 volunteers, including 12 Ukrainian refugees, to create 30 solar-powered Ray of Life lights. These lights will be sent to rural areas in Ukraine affected by the ongoing conflict, providing much-needed illumination to families in need.

Empowering Ukrainian Families with Solar Lights

The initiative led by New Vision and the People’s Chapel Church underscores the importance of humanitarian efforts in times of crisis. The solar lights not only offer practical benefits such as lighting and mobile phone charging capabilities but also serve as a symbol of hope and solidarity for those impacted by the war in Ukraine.

Supporting Ukrainian Refugees

Local Ukrainian refugees, like Sherhii Bahdasariants, are actively participating in the project, highlighting the emotional significance of being able to contribute to their homeland. For Bahdasariants, the opportunity to assemble and send physical aid back to Ukraine represents a tangible way to support friends and family enduring hardships in the war zone.

Addressing Challenges in Ukraine

The delivery of solar lights to regions where electric infrastructure has been compromised due to the conflict is a crucial step in providing relief to Ukrainian families. With limited access to electricity, these solar-powered lights offer a reliable source of illumination, especially during nighttime hours, improving safety and quality of life for residents in affected areas.

New Vision’s Commitment to Humanitarian Aid

New Vision has a track record of partnering with churches across the United States to distribute solar lights to communities worldwide. Since the onset of the Ukrainian war, New Vision has delivered 420 lights to individuals living in conflict-affected areas, demonstrating a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations in times of need.

Creating Impact Through Innovation

The Ray of Life solar lights, developed by New Vision in 2004, represent a blend of technology and compassion. Assembled by volunteers, these lights offer a sustainable and practical solution for communities facing energy challenges, showcasing the power of innovation in addressing humanitarian crises.

Building Bridges Through Collaboration

The collaboration between New Vision, local churches, and Ukrainian refugees exemplifies the spirit of unity and resilience in the face of adversity. By working together to create and distribute solar lights, these partners are not only providing essential resources but also fostering bonds of solidarity and support across borders.
