Bruttig-Fankel, a municipality in the Cochem-Zell district near the Moselle River, is gearing up to implement an innovative agri-photovoltaics project that integrates solar energy generation with sustainable livestock grazing on a large scale. This groundbreaking initiative will feature high solar module tables that allow cows to graze underneath, demonstrating a unique fusion of agriculture and renewable energy.

The Vision Behind the Project

The project’s design, unveiled at Intersolar Europe in Munich, showcases a cutting-edge substructure that optimizes material costs and assembly time. With each module table capable of generating significant kilowatts of power, the installation is set to become one of Europe’s largest agri-photovoltaic projects, with a total output of 69 megawatts.
