In a move towards sustainability and environmental responsibility, Digital Edge Holdings Pte. Ltd., a prominent data center platform in Asia, has teamed up with Peak Energy Investments Ltd., a leading renewable developer. The goal of this collaboration is to implement renewable energy projects to power Digital Edge’s data centers across the Asia Pacific region. This partnership will focus on developing 500 MW of operating capacity for both existing and planned data centers, with a strong emphasis on utilizing solar, wind, and storage technologies.

Renewable Energy Solutions for Data Centers

This partnership aims to decarbonize up to 1 GW of power and generate over 1,300 GWh annually, equivalent to removing 216,000 cars from the road. By focusing on sustainable energy solutions, both Digital Edge and Peak Energy are aligning their business goals with environmental sustainability. This collaboration is a significant step towards achieving carbon neutrality and advancing ESG objectives in the region.

Key Objectives of the Partnership

Samuel Lee, CEO of Digital Edge, expressed excitement about scaling renewable energy usage and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The EDGE1 facility in Jakarta is already powered by 100% renewables, setting a precedent for future initiatives. By partnering with Peak Energy, Digital Edge aims to further enhance their sustainability efforts and meet their ESG goals effectively.

Gavin Adda, CEO of Peak Energy, highlighted the company’s commitment to helping corporates reduce power costs and carbon footprints sustainably.
