Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) and REC Solar have recently teamed up to complete a significant solar array project near Central San’s treatment plant in Martinez, California. This project marks a crucial step towards achieving both economic and sustainability goals for the district. The 2.16 MW solar array was constructed on a repurposed portion of a 48-acre buffer property, showcasing a commitment to renewable energy and environmental stewardship.

Collaboration for Sustainable Energy Solutions

Central San engaged ARC Alternatives to explore opportunities for expanding its photovoltaic (PV) footprint and enhancing energy efficiency at its facilities. REC Solar took charge of designing, engineering, procuring, and constructing the fixed-tilt, ground mount solar array, showcasing expertise in renewable energy projects. This collaboration highlights the potential for solar energy to deliver tangible benefits to organizations and communities alike, particularly when financed through power purchase agreements (PPAs).

Long-Term Investment in Solar Energy

The solar array project was financed through a 25-year PPA, ensuring a long-term commitment to clean energy generation. REC Solar will continue to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the array throughout the lifespan of the agreement, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
