Grow Solar is back in Waukesha and Jefferson Counties, providing residents and small businesses with the chance to lower energy costs through solar technology. The group buy program assists participants by purchasing solar panels in bulk at a discounted rate. Started by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), this program aims to give homeowners the opportunity to invest in independent energy sources and support the regional economy.

The Benefits of Grow Solar Program

Since its inception in 2013, the Grow Solar program has helped generate over two megawatts of solar energy in the Midwest. In Waukesha and Jefferson Counties alone, residents and small businesses have produced 700 kilowatts of solar energy. The program includes free site assessments, customized system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring that participants can benefit from solar energy for decades to come.

Community Collaboration for Solar Power

MREA, along with the Waukesha County Green Team and Heart of the City, are collaborating to provide information sessions on Grow Solar. These sessions, including the upcoming “Solar Power Hour” on May 28th, aim to educate the community about the benefits of solar energy and empower individuals to make informed decisions about renewable energy sources.

Empowering Communities with Solar Energy

By supporting initiatives like Grow Solar, residents and small businesses in Waukesha and Jefferson Counties can take control of their energy costs, reduce their environmental impact, and contribute to a more sustainable future. Investing in solar energy not only benefits individual participants but also strengthens the community as a whole by promoting cleaner, more reliable energy sources.
