The company’s commitment to U.S. manufacturing and its recent investments have resulted in a positive impact on the local economy.

Qcells’ Solar Manufacturing Operations in Georgia

According to a report from the Cartersville-Bartow County Department of Economic Development, Qcells’ manufacturing operations in Georgia have led to the creation of numerous jobs and substantial economic growth. The company’s $2.5 billion investment has expanded its operations in Dalton and Cartersville, contributing to the local economy.

Job Creation and Economic Impacts

Qcells’ manufacturing operations in Bartow and Whitfield Counties have resulted in the creation of approximately 3,800 direct jobs and a total employment of 6,755 jobs. The total potential sales and output from these operations exceed $2 billion, showcasing the significant economic benefits of Qcells’ investments in Georgia.

Expansion and Growth

The recent expansion of Qcells’ Dalton factory has created 510 additional clean energy jobs, while the initiation of solar panel manufacturing at the Cartersville facility is expected to further boost employment opportunities. The Cartersville facility aims to establish a full silicon-based solar supply chain, including ingot, wafer, cell, and finished panel production.

Onshoring Solar Manufacturing in the U.S.

Beyond Georgia, Qcells is investing in onshoring solar manufacturing by reviving a factory in Moses Lake, Washington, to produce polysilicon for American-made solar panels at the Cartersville facility. This initiative aligns with the company’s goal of strengthening domestic solar manufacturing and supporting the U.S. clean energy economy.

Support from Officials

Qcells’ efforts have garnered support from federal and state officials, including U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, Governor Brian Kemp, and Representative Barry Loudermilk. These officials have commended Qcells for its contributions to Georgia’s clean energy economy and emphasized the importance of American solar manufacturing.

Alignment with National Goals

Qcells’ initiatives align with the objectives of the Biden Administration to support domestic solar manufacturers and enhance trade enforcement against foreign competitors. By expanding its solar manufacturing capabilities, Qcells continues to play a vital role in advancing the U.S. clean energy economy.

Qcells’ solar manufacturing investments in Georgia have not only created jobs and boosted the local economy but also aligned with national goals to strengthen domestic manufacturing and clean energy initiatives. The company’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and economic growth highlights the importance of investing in solar manufacturing for a greener and more prosperous future.
